DETROIT, June 9, 2009- A historic entrepreneurship initiative unfolding in the heart of the Motor City could turn into a model that cities can reproduce to spur the economic recovery over the next decade in America. They am not going to lie, before Challenge Detroit they treated Detroit like one might treat a stinky bathroom: get in, get exactly what you need, before any lasting damage is done and escape. They spent 2.5 years in Southeast Michigan (Ann Arbor and Ferndale) and only visited Detroit for special events, so their views of the city were quite limited. Detroit was Silicon Valley before there was a Silicon Valley.

The love that there are no chain grocery stores or big box stores and that normally the homogenizing corporate forces that have ruined the rest of America have been scared of Detroit's city to destroy it. Saw their first concert went to the Nintendo World Championships at Cobo Center, Bell Isle Aquarium, the Detroit Grand Prix, Devil's Night, along with the Joe Louis fist. Not ot mention Detroit has hte best pizza on the planet with Buddy's & Loui's.

From brand new, unique country the city is offered three days of country's greatest assortment by the Detroit Hoedown. They was born and raised in Detroit, was taught in the Detroit Public School system and that i believe they turned out excellent. They am totally appalled in the Dateline exclusive because it didn't showcase what Detroit has to offer, should you would like to see the "actual Detroit", come and follow along actual Detroiters!!! they thought the city was beautiful and ran the Detroit Marathon in October.

I love Detroit for it is affordable brick bungalow and frame houses for it's working class people and also the fact that they've got many, many well kept neighborhoods of such dwellings. They love Detroit for all of its beautiful apartment buildings with maid quarters, high ceilings, swimming pools, exercise facilities and much more. They love Detroit for it's fabulous middle class and wealthy dwellings which are never revealed in the media.

It distresses them that Chris Hansen's Dateline producer and he not only knew about the positive parts of Detroit and had lots of footage that may happen to be aired, but chose to totally disregard the nice things. The brand new rapid transit system is in the works, the agricultural greening of Detroit has begun, and governmental corruption is in the past. They're an immigrant from Canada, been here five years now, and they am proud to tell everyone they reside in Detroit. Detroit is loved by them and always will.
